House of House - Rushing to Paradise (Walkin' These Streets)Another piece of rarefaction from Whatever We Want Records, this is a slow-moving dance tune, as tightly plotted as a mystery novel, that unfolds gracefully over 9+ minutes. There are clues in the first four minutes of this song that you won't pick up on until near the end. A couple red herrings to throw you off. A truly mind-blowing build from from the fourth minute to the 5:30 mark. There are certain songs that are immediately recognizable as works of next-level craft, deliberation, and talent, and this is one of those, where it's hard to imagine exactly how much work went into making it ("Rushing to Paradise" is the type of thing that easily could've been the result of a few moments of transcendent inspiration or the result of solid months of labor, revision, worry).One of the drawbacks of Whatever We Want is that they do not press many copies of their records, so this one is as sold out as it gets. You can look at various product pages and yearn, but that's basically your only option, unless you scour ebay etc. for offerings. It looks like the label is set up, in a way, over here now, where you can at least listen to sound samples from their entire catalog of impossible-to-obtain LPs and singles.
